Grenoble Ecole de Management is organizing on Thurday march 31, a 3rd day of work with the Executive Committees of 12 companies from Grenoble area involved on its side, in the Convention des Entreprises pour le Climat (Businesses for Climate Convention). The objective: to strengthen the links between the COMEXs of these local major economic players by sharing best practices, to build a bold and impactful roadmap, and to create a model of collaboration that can be replicated in other regions. The main concern is to conciliate economic, social and environmental performance.

The Convention des Entreprises pour le Climat (CEC): players from Isère region are mobilizing

The CEC brings together 150 French companies.
Among them, 12 companies from Isère region are involved in this major initiative: ARaymond; Caterpillar; Cetup; GEM; Keria; Mastergrid; MTB; Petzl; Photoweb; Poma; Radiall; Rossignol.

CEC's objective: to make bold and high-impact proposals for companies to implement.
In order to spread this objective locally and to amplify the territorial dynamic, GEM has decided to organize several working meetings in 2022, addressed to CEC member companies in the Grenoble and Isère areas. The members of the COMEX of these companies are invited to think along three levels:

  • imagining an environmental trigger for all
  • federating around a shared commitment of all the companies of the territory
  • improving collaboration between public actors, training institutions and companies to implement this transformation

After two meetings on January 12 and February 10, 2022, 150 participants meet again on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at GEM for collective intelligence workshops and conferences that aim to enable the directors to deepen their understanding of themes related to the transformation of their professions and the ecological transition.

A conference on regenerative business models, led by Christophe Sempels of the Lumia higher education institution, is also on the agenda of this meeting.
Other similar meetings will take place at GEM throughout 2022. The idea - beyond having these meetings at Grenoble Ecole de Management- is for the Isère community to initiate a pilot action methodology for other CEC regional groups all around France. The goal is to create local dynamics throughout the country and thus, accelerate the transition locally then nationally.

A federative role for GEM

As the first Business School to become a Société A Mission in March 2021, GEM has chosen, through its raison d'être, to provide answers, through education and research, to the major challenges of the ecological, societal and economic transition.

Bringing together regional economic actors in order to find solutions to these common issues is a concrete response to this ambition.
These "local" meetings of the Convention des Entreprise pour le Climat in Grenoble thus allow GEM to embody with strength and conviction its federative and driving role to benefit its territory, and to reinforce its mission of training in the skills that are essential to accompany all transitions, including business model transformations.

Beyond the CEC meeting: a highly committed day at GEM

This meeting of the Convention des Entreprises pour le Climat closes a week full in initiatives in favor of the ecological and societal transition, among which:

  • A collaborative Climate Fresk workshop for GEM staff on March 31, 2022
  • The first meeting of the Mission Committee: the governance body of GEM as a Société A Mission, on March 31, 2022
  • The GEM Alumni Convention on the Paris Campus, which features a conference about HR & Economic Peace: "Managerial practices in companies: what if it was better tomorrow?" with interventions of GEM Alumni and professors
  • Student Ecology Week by IMPACT's, the GEM's student association dedicated to sustainable development
